The 20th ISTRO Conference was held in Nanjing

The 20th International Soil Tillage Research Organization (ISTRO) Conference was held in Nanjing on September 14-18, 2015. Over 130 experts and scholars from 35 countries attended the conference, exchanged views and perspectives around the theme of ‘Sustainable Intensification for increased Food and Energy’. This conference consisted of 80 oral presentations, among which more than 15 presentations were related to conservation tillage. Conservation tillage has become one of the hot issues being discussed at the conference.
Dr. Li Hongwen, the director of Conservation Tillage Research Center of MOA (the Ministry of Agriculture, China), was invited to make the keynote presentation titled ‘A current status of residue-handling techniques for no/strip-till seeder’.
Yuji Nino, the land management officer of Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, FAO, attended the later conference ‘The 12th International Conference of the East and Southeast Asia Federation of Soil Science Societies (ESAFS)’.
